AHDR app for iPhone and iPad

This application affords users the opportunity to peruse the contents of the Arab Human Development Reports (AHDRs) published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in an easy and simple manner on their cellular smart phones, at any time and in any location, hence freeing them from dependence of print versions of the reports. This approach is in line with new modes of consumption of knowledge and is environment-friendly as well.

The AHDRs engage institutions and citizens in Arab countries in analysis and discussion about factors which shape the choices and freedoms available to people across the region, so as to foster understanding and consensus around regional and national development priorities. They identify disadvantaged groups within the region, and suggest policies, strategies and opportunities for their empowerment. The Reports spur public debates and mobilize support for action and change through processes of consultation, research and report writing. They target policy-makers, opinion leaders and civil societies. AHDRs have helped to articulate perceptions and priorities in the region, and have served as a source of alternate policy opinion for development planning across varied themes.


يوفر هذا التطبيق الفرصة لمستخدميه للاطلاع على محتوى تقارير التنمية الإنسانية العربية التي يصدرها برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي، في يسر وسهولة على هواتفهم الجوالة الذكية، في أي وقت أم مكان، ومن دون الاعتماد على النسخة الورقية للتقارير. يتواكب هذا التوجه مع الأنماط المستحدثة للتعاطي مع المنتجات المعرفية فضلاً عن أنه صديق للبيئة.

وتسعى تقارير التنمية الإنسانية العربية لإشراك المؤسسات والمواطنين في الدول العربية في تحليل ومناقشة العوامل التي تحدد الخيارات والحريات المتاحة للناس في جميع أنحاء المنطقة، وذلك من أجل تعزيز التفاهم والتوافق حول أولويات التنمية على المستويين الوطني والإقليمي. وتعمل التقارير على تحديد الفئات المحرومة في المنطقة، واقتراح السياسات والاستراتيجيات والفرص من أجل تمكينها. وتسعى التقارير لتحفيز حوار مجتمعي واسع حول سبل العمل التنموي والتغيير، ولحشد الجهود لدعمها من خلال عمليات التشاور والبحث وكتابة التقارير. وتستهدف تقارير التنمية الإنسانية العربية صانعي السياسات وقادة الرأي والمجتمع المدني. ولقد ساعدت خلال مسيرتها على توضيح المفاهيم والأولويات في المنطقة العربية، ووفرت مساحة لرؤى بديلة لسياسات وخطط التنمية عبر مجالات متنوعة.
